the program

We provide customized vocational training in order to prepare Detroit and Michigan residents for a new career path, right here in the heart of Detroit. Our goal is to help residents better themselves and their communities, by giving them the tools and knowledge needed to have productive and functional jobs. We strive to make our community better with growth. If you’re a business owner looking to train and certify your personnel or you’re an individual looking for new career pathways, we have a program that works for you and your needs.

Together we can bring out Detroit’s full potential. In order to improve our city, we need trained and certified professionals in urban blight removal. Our ultimate goal is to certify and license successful professionals in this industry.

Detroit Training Center offers students a way into the blight removal industry through this program. This is a dramatically growing industry, especially in Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, and Pontiac because many houses are in need of lead and asbestos abatement in order to facilitate renovation and demolition. The courses included in this program prepare the worker for the rigors of the job. Specifically, graduates earn 8 certifications, and learn soft skills needed to succeed in this particular workplace. As a result, graduates of this program find successful careers helping to reconstruct their communities.

Detroit Training Center is Approved by Michigan State Approving Agency for the training of VA Students and other eligible beneficiaries. These benefits include the following: Chapter 30, Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill®), Chapter 35, Chapter 1606, Chapter 1607, Chapter 31/Vocational Rehabilitation.
