Management:


 

patrick beal, chief executive officer

Patrick started his career in Landscaping and Property Management before co-founding Beal Incorporated, a Demolition Contracting business in 2006. While continuing to help grow Beal Inc, Patrick graduated from the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University with a Major in Finance and a specialization in Hospitality Business Real Estate Development in 2010. He has directly overseen millions of dollars of construction and demolition work on industrial, commercial, and residential projects. Beal Inc. went on to win several awards relating to fast growth, including being listed third in the INC 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America 2010 Edition. In 2011 Patrick co-founded MeritHall, a staffing company focused on Construction and Property Maintenance. In 2012 Patrick co-founded Detroit Training Center where he now works as the CEO leading efforts in Workforce Development and Construction Training. He was honored by Detroit Young Professionals for the Vanguard Awards and led Detroit Training Center to win the SBA Emerging Leaders, Motor City Match, and NEIdeas awards as well as the 2019 Michigan 50 Companies To Watch Award. In 2019 he co-founded Corktown Historic Developments LLC which is focused on real estate projects in Detroit and continues to work on various projects in this area.


Glenn Hayes, Director of career navigation

Glenn is an undergraduate and graduate alumni of Wayne State University, where he received his Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. He has over 30 years in management, where many of those years concentrated on Employment and Training Programs in Michigan. At Schoolcraft College, he was an Online Professor for their “Career Decision Making” curriculum, where the outreach extended throughout the community. He was also recognized for his participation with Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency’s (OLHSA) “Sweat Equity Program”, prepping low-income citizens to become homeowners. He presided over his own consulting business (SNS GROUP, Successful Networking Services Group) that concentrated on developing Employment and Training programs, and small business startups. He retired from that business in 2005, but because he had more to offer to his community, joined Detroit Training Center in 2018 as a Career Counselor. At DTC, Glenn is a Career Counselor, currently with the MIG Welding Production Program, and previously held Counseling positions for their Heavy Equipment Operators Program, Residential Renovation Program, and outreach to the Metropolitan Detroit communities where he gives speaking engagements to High School Students, Community Based programs for children and adults, and other nonprofit and for-profit organizations.


Sarah Locke, Director of Career Counseling

Sarah Locke is dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their career goals. With a strong background in nonprofit management and a passion for building meaningful connections, she helps students discover opportunities that align with their skills and aspirations.

Sarah is committed to creating pathways for success, fostering impactful relationships, and driving results that benefit both students and the broader Detroit community. She encourages everyone to stay motivated and keep striving toward their dreams.


Bram Lesko, Digital services manager

Bram is a graduate of Wayne State University and native of Southeast Michigan. He started at Detroit Training Center as a Social Media Class Admin and quickly worked his way up to Digital Services Manager. Bram is a problem solver and is proud to be apart of growing a skilled workforce.

Jeaneen Walker, CDL Program Manager

Jeaneen attended Baker College for a bachelor's degree in secondary education with a major in English and a minor in Biology.  She has been in the truck driving industry for 18 years and an over-the-road driver for 3 years and has been teaching for 15 years.  


Jessie Baker, CDL Career COUNSELOR

Jessie brings decades of experience to his role as the CDL B and cement trucking instructor at DTC. Starting his career on farms, he earned his CDL in 1991 and later founded Crossroads Transportation.

Jessie’s extensive industry knowledge, paired with his commitment to guiding students, makes him an outstanding instructor and career counselor dedicated to helping others succeed in the transportation field.


Michael Gairaud

Wayne State graduate Michael Gairaud is one of the Career Counselors here at DTC. He is passionate about helping others achieve their career goals and supporting others by providing resources that are needed to navigate today’s job market. What Michael enjoys about his position here is the career navigation techniques he can apply and teach to students, from resumes to retention strategies. He looks to help others have a plan for the betterment of themselves.


Instructors:


Tim Maurice, CDL Instructor

With years of practical experience in driving heavy machinery, he joined the army, where he was trained to drive trucks in 1981. He is now a full-time instructor of the CDL A program here at the Detroit Training Center.


Omar Cleague, CDL Instructor

Omar graduated from a US truck driving school in Sterling Heights and has been in the trucking industry for 10 years. He has mainly worked in the metro Detroit area and is now a full-time CDL A instructor for DTC.


Marty Thomson, Instructor

Marty is the head instructor for all the lead abatement certifications through the state of Michigan and EPA. License contractor and builder for many years, his wealth of knowledge in the construction field is a huge asset here at DTC Marty has worked and developed young minority contractors both men and women here in the city Detroit. “Empowering young men and women with the tools to succeed in life gives me enormous satisfaction”.


Angela McCall, First Aid Instructor

 Angela is an experienced Trainer/Instructor/Business Owner and has provided professional training and consulting in several areas of business management and healthcare education. This includes training, management, human resources, and career services. In addition, Angela is a Certified Instructor through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Trauma Event Management, American Safety and Health Institute, Emergency Care and Safety Institute, and Safe Sitter. She is also a nationally registered Emergency Medical Responder and the State of Michigan licensed Medical First Responder. She is also an NREMT candidate awaiting the National Registry Exam.  Her experience includes consulting for businesses in the service industry in the U.S. and Canada. Her teaching and training have been appreciated throughout Michigan and among several other states in the southern and Midwestern areas. Her qualifications also include certification in Tactical Response (Active Shooter), Mental Health First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Naloxone Administration, Forklift Operation, and Chainsaw Operation. She also teaches Emergency Medical Responding, Basic Life Support, CPR, AED, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Ladder Safety, Safe Lifting Practices, Bloodborne Pathogens, Bleeding Control, Narcan Administration, Babysitting, How to Stay Healthy as We Age, 8 Laws of Health, Heart Health, Smoking Cessation, and Job Readiness courses. Her teaching style is very engaging and helpful to each learner. She makes learning enjoyable through hands-on activities, games, and realistic role-playing. Angela appeals to every style of learning and adapts her classes to the needs of her students. Her goal is to make a positive impact on the overall organization and on each individual student.



Andre ANDREWS, Instructor

Andre brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role as the Drywall Finishing Program instructor at the Detroit Training Center. With 16 years of teaching Building Trades at Clintondale Adult Education, Andre is well-versed in hands-on training and workforce development. Andre's favorite part of workforce development is the opportunity to work one-on-one with students, tailoring his teaching style to meet their individual learning levels. Andre describes his approach as patient, positive, and grace-filled, fostering open dialogue and frequent communication to create an engaging learning environment. His greatest motivation comes from witnessing students' growth and hearing their success stories long after they’ve completed the program. His advice to prospective students? "DTC offers multiple programs for those looking to build their skills. Don’t hesitate to take that first step."

Jordan harris, Marketing Strategist/ SOcial Media/ Class Admin

With his creative mind and time studying at Specs Howard School of Media Arts, Jordan quickly rose in the ranks within the social media/marketing landscape. Jordan is always willing to lend a hand when needed and eager to conquer the marketing realm. A creative at heart who loves making things from nothing to something, and enjoys seeing the students who walk into DTC do the same!


Nicholas Boulahanis

Nicholas is an education enthusiast with a strong marketing background. After years of working for non-profits ranging from local theaters to nationally recognized museums, he dedicated himself to helping people find the right path for them. His wide range of performance and relationship-building experience helps him every day to connect the right people to the right opportunities. He is a strong believer that a career should be accessible without having to go into debt and is committed to the Detroit Training Center’s vision of training people from a variety of backgrounds in skills gap areas in which they can grow and earn a living.


DaeJona Gordon

DaeJona has 5 years experience with social media marketing that she gained through internships and paid positions. She is in her last year at Wayne State University as a marketing major with a concentration in advertising. She is also a creative graphic designer/artist and a photographer who has been seen at various art shows in Detroit, New York and Boston. She finds joy in helping people grow and learn!


Sabrina Loree

Sabrina’s passion is for creative thinking which drives her to excel at her job and personal projects. She has been making content since she first got her hands on a camera at the age of 10 and with that became a whole story. From yearbooks, city landscapes, drawing designs, candid shots, and profile shots, to promotions she has gotten some skill in each area. A master of none but a Jill of all trades sorta speak. Other than helping maintain things at the school, Sabrina has a few other interests that fall in line with what she does. She helps promote local creative figures inside the City of Detroit, along with making a Documentary series about the History of Detroit. Her passion comes from wanting to make the stories not well known to become more flourished.
